Getting .Iso's onto CD

What do you do after you download the .iso images?

Do you put them onto a CD, and then boot from the CD? I tried this, but I think I copied "slackware-10.2-install-d1.iso.asc" and "slackware-10.2-install-d1.iso.md5" How would this affect the CD?

Thanks much,
V

The ISO files are the images of the original CDs. They should not be copied to the CDs. But, they should be written to CDs by using specific software.
There's a program called K3b in KDE, which allows you to burn ISO images to CDs and DVDs. if you are familiar with NERO, it's available both for Windows and Linux.

can't you also use
Code:
cdrecord -v dev="/mnt/cdrom" -data yourimage.iso
? that seems to work for me
