Hi,

If the colour issue arises just when you connect your vcr then there's something wrong with this connection. Does ati wonder have a tuner ? Does it work with the tuner ?

I remember that my playstation won't display color using japanese games unless I bought a different adaptor. I don't know if your issue is related to this.

Bye

Tuner: Has a coaxial plug on the back, big black/silver rectangular box on the card itself.

It does, have a smiliar card, all the ati tv cards do, wouldnt be much of use without a tuner.

Hook the cable directly from the wall to the card (no vcr in middle). Any color?
If there is color than its the vcr.
If no then its a issue with the card, most likely a software setting rather than a hardware problem since you get color through windows.

If its a new card this prob wont apply but check for jumpers on the card (color or b/w), there maybe a software switch that by passes there settings that the linux software doesnt have a option for.

ah its not the vcr as that works when its done in windows.. In windows all i had to do was remove a reg to get it working but linux doesnt have reg keys.. So its something with the software or setup.. On boot i get a few lines like TDA9875 @ somehting not found..

chown root:video /dev/video0
/usr/sbin/groupadd -g 18 video
--edit /etc/group
--add your user name to the group video
