Are you really using Slack 9.1?
In the up-to-date Slack distributions, you should only have to install and load hplip (and cups, obviously) and go straight to cups config in your browser. Brian |
well I got the hplip sources and installed them
the problem could well have been that the user that I was running the tests as wasn't a member of the lp group another problem could have been that the slack distro diden't come with a D2300 .ppd file but I have it working now |
I don't know which Slack version you are using, but there are official packages in the distribution for both Slack 11 (in /extra, if I remember correctly) and Slack 12. Of course, you can always compile from sources yourself.
