Get Slack?
After running 11.0 since it came out and not needing or wanting to upgrade, I'm finally ready to slap a new 12.2 down. I can't get any download bandwidth from the DVD torrent.
Try 'http://slackware.osuosl.org/slackware-12.2-iso/' for the dvd download.
They don't have the actual DVD iso there (it was my first instinct to go there too), only the md5sum and asc files for the DVD, as well as the CD images of course.

Maybe this is down to your ISP / location / connection. I keep an rsynced copy of the current tree and so don't need to download the iso's but, just as a test, I tried downloading from the torrent given on the Slackware page that's here. As php said there were lots of seeders and I very soon jumped up to 250KB/s (thats kilobytes, not kilobits) which is pretty much maxing out my broadband connection.
Obviously this is no consolation to you but are you sure there isn't a problem somewhere else ?

Check this one out 'ftp://slackware.mirrors.tds.net/pub/slackware/slackware-12.2-iso'. I know this site has everything.

Thanks guys. I will try your suggestions soon hopefully. Right now I am trying to bring up my Slackware 11 system on new hardware so I can keep going. The old box is dying, giving disk errors on both drives, and doesn't boot reliably. I've been rsyncing files all night (see other thread).
Not the encryption but how many and what ports are open to limit university abuse. You can't enable sharing the slackware torrent without enabling others.
