Get scrolling to work

Hi,

Mouse scrolling doesn't work in fluxbox, in firefox. In /etc/X11/xorg.conf i have protocol set to "IMPS/2" and device is set to "/dev/psaux". In Redhat FC2 i use the same protocol and "/dev/input/mice" as a device and scrolling works ( I have GNOME running on FC2 ). I tried using "/dev/input/mice" as a device in slack, but it tells no such device. I'm using some "KeyMouse" mouse.

Does anyone know a solution?

Add this line in xorg.conf, under the Mouse device section:

Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

i doubt a sticky will help
they haven't done a search on the topic
what makes you think they will read a sticky

hi

here is my problem: if i get the mouse scrolling to work in Xorg, the mouse results unusable in any terminal window (tty) even if the x server is not launched. how can it be possible? and how to avoid the problem while keeping the scrolling working?

GPM package? Not sure I understand.. The mouse working in init3 has nothing to do with anything really except that you don't have gpm configured...

i start with init 5 and gpm and... it's a fact that when i move the mouse the blinking cursor doesn't and about once every 6-7 seconds of moving something in the shell happens as if i hit "return" several times... i really don't understand why and how!
