GConf, a torn in my... floppy drive.
Since I started seeing gconf messages (too long to remember) my floppy drive has been "complaining", or searching for a diskette, it's annoying. I have the vague impression that gconf is for.. gnome, but I could be wrong. I'm running Slack 9, fluxbox (default).
/var/log/messages:
Jun 18 16:09:36 dungeon gconfd (root-9639): Resolved address "xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory" to a read-only config source at position 0
Jun 18 16:09:36 dungeon gconfd (root-9639): Resolved address "xml:readwrite:/root/.gconf" to a writable config source at position 1
Jun 18 16:09:36 dungeon gconfd (root-9639): Resolved address "xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults" to a read-only config source at position 2
Jun 18 16:11:36 dungeon gconfd (root-9639): GConf server is not in use, shutting down.
I feel like screaming GET LOST GCONF YOU F....... and each time it tried to load and then shutsdown, it probes my floppy drive... All I hear, like every few minutes is the clicking of the drive!
I need this fixed. And I'm not the only one with this, annoyance.
