Fun Toys - Yakuake

Greetings
Any Slackers tried this? YAKUAKE I know it is trivial to setup a keybind to launch any favorite terminal, but I've whiled away enough hours playing versions of Quake, I think I might like to see this. Would enjoy hearing from someone who has done it.

Yes, I use it frequently, I just... like it :)

I got to hear about it while I was using Pardus a few years ago (now a dead distribution) and since then I use it regularly on my EeePC laptop.

While I'm not using slack at the moment, I've been using it on openSUSE for years as my default 'go-to' terminal. Very configurable, and DEFINITELY out of the way. Not even an icon in your tray/bar/panel/whatever-GUI you're running. I left my keybinding at F12 (default), so one tap pulls it down...if it's up on another desktop, it'll hop over to where you currently are...no dragging/reassigning/minimize-then-maximize needed.

Personally I use Ftjerm, but only to avoid KDE dependencies (I'm running Fluxbox). Otherwise I like the idea of drop-down terminal very much and use it all the time.

+1 for Yakuake. I find it very handy to quickly switch between GUI & terminal.

Same here, but using stjerm (without scrolling animation and using compton as the compositor). Great with rtorrent =]

I've been using Yakuake since I started with Slackware64 13.0. One of the more handy programs I've used.
