Thank You for ur replys
here are 2 good faqs for you about using usb digital cameras under linux for me it works fine with my Praktica DCZ 2.2 :
they are in german, but the commands should be readable for all out there
Ok it told me to do "modprobe usb_storage" and it says cant locate module so im guess that means that the module isen't loaded into the kernal how do i do that???i use to but i cant memeber i know u have to uncomment something in a file but in not sure which file sorry guys.....Thanks for ur replys
no that is because you maybe have not connected your camera to your pc
connect the cam and turn it on and into pc transfer mode then login as root and do a modprobe usb_storage
after that create a dir you want your digicam to be mounted to e.g. /mnt/digicam and do a
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/digicam as root if you want to have full write access for non root users you have to usw this comand:
mount -t vfat -o umask=000 -w /dev/sda1 /mnt/digicam/
then logout root and go to /mnt/digicam there you should see the content of your digital camera and should be able to move it if you have just mounted it without unmask you can only as root access your digicam ...
Oh ok well i figured it out YAYAYAY all i did was cat /proc/scsi/scsi then i saw it there then i went mkdir /mnt/FujiFilm and mkdir /home/Matt/FujiFilm then i went into fstab and added those dir in there and then it work that was that easest thing i've ever done these things make me love linux like i were do try to do that in windows omg i would be there for hours THANK you guys for ur responds
