(ftp server) showmount error

HI GEEKS.
I am using slackware 11. I did configure my box to have an ftp server. I already exported a directory for anonymous ftp users. But when i type:
# showmount

it replies:
root@ai#3:/etc# showmount
showmount: can't get address for ai#3

Can any body tell me the possible problem.

Don't know the answer off of the top of my head.

Are you using proftpd, wuftpd or vsftp?
