FTP (client) will not work.

So... this is my problem

Filezilla and Gftp clients will not work, they will not resolve names or even directly connect to IP's.

The weird thing is the default 'ftp' console command works and I am able to connect, authenticate and transfer files.

I have deleted the config files for both filezilla and gftp.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Try delete the hidden files in your home directory.
.gftp and .filezilla

Copy them first in case you need check settings.

I've done that already in .config, I also deleted them in ~/ ... Same thing. It's weird because the console command 'ftp' has no problem whatsoever resolving names or connecting to IP's, so it's not a router issue.

I recently did a security update, I should go over the notes - maybe - something in that security update blocked something.

Anyone else having this issue after update? Just open Gftp and try to connect to ftp.slackware.com, does it connect for you?

Just did that, no problems on Slackware 64 current minus Feb 03 updates.
