hi,

--------
mount: mount point /mnt/dvd-rom does not exist
--------

i think you gotto make that mountpoint by :
#mkdir /mnt/dvd_rom
before you can mount it ...

hello guys....i fixed my issue an this is what i did i hope it will help others:

/dev/hdb2 / ext2 defaults 1 1
/dev/hda1 /mnt/w2k -t ntfs -r -o umask=0222
/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrw iso9660 noauto,user,ro 0 0
/dev/hdd /mnt/dvd iso9660 noauto,user,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0

I was following this method by it is not correct:

/dev/cd-rw <-- this should be /dev/hdc
dev/dvd-rom <----------------- /dev/hdd

this is how i checked for dma:
root@darkstar:/home/imdeemvp# hdparm -d 1 /dev/dvd
/dev/dvd:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
using_dma = 1 (on)

i was able to use it afterwards

thanks for your replies
