Freetype-2.9 (current) problem with Wine 32-bit
I had to downgrade freetype-2.9 from current to previous 2.8 version to be able to use my windows apps using wine 2.13.
There was a similar problem last year, as I remember... |
wine 2.13 is very old. Any reason why you're using that version in -current?
|
Wine 2.13 is a half year old, I use it because newer versions make some troubles with my Tina 11.2 electronic suite.
I filled a suitable bug at winehq.org ; it is not resolved till now. As of freetype - will it be oficially downgraded at Slackware - current ? |

Did you try to recompile your wine to see if that solves the freetype issue? What exeactly is this issue you have? You are giving zero details which makes it impossible to give a relevant answer.
Also, why aren't you just using slackware 14.2? A stable release will not suddenly upgrade package versions. |

What are you going to post to convince us that Freetype 2.9 is responsible? Do you have any terminal output to paste in? Link to the winehq bug that you filed? Screenshot? |
It seems that freetype-2.9 conflicts only with older wine-2.13 (does not compile). Current wine-3.2 compiles well.
But my problem with Tina-11.2 still exists with wine beyond 2.13 version: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44217 So as for now, I have to stick with 2.13 and freetype-2.8. Not a big problem really. |
