I sometimes don't plug in the Zip drive. This then changes the Compact flash card to /dev/hda1 ...
I therfore have to change fstab and any links to it from the desktop..., a right anoyance..
My question is: Can I fix the Zip drive to one position eg /dev/hda4 and the compact flash to /dev/hdb permanently even if the Zip drive/Comact flash is not plugged in???
I resolved my own problem, not the simplest way, but....
I am using auto-autofs to correctly determine the right drives etc, I then created a simple program to make a correct fstab and then add the links on the desktop...
