For the cd burning gurus out there !
Hi
Ok I have a nt server with the dvd/cd writer, then I have a linux server. I want to burn a cd from the nix box over the network in the nt box. Has anyone been able to find a solution to this.
Basically I want to use the cdrecord as follows
cdrecord -v REMOTE:user@host:bus,target,lun +other options etc.
I have tried the following
cdrecord -v -msinfo REMOTE:zated@10.27.72.11:0,1,0
but it doesnt seem to connect.
Is there something that I have to configure or enable on the nt server? (not to clued on the nt side of things )
I know there are other options of doing this but I would like to get this working if possible.
Hopefully a l33t reads this post :-)
thanx

Maybe you could install Cygwin on the NT box which would act as server and allow for the cdrecord to connect.

If you have the burner in your NT server, why are you trying to burn a CD from Linux to NT with files from the Linux box? Why not burn the files from the Linux box directly from the NT server?

I have to assume the NT box doesn't have CD-burninator software?

So how he would burn without having software? There is no way to burn without having required (low-level) software.

A system with a burner, but no software to use it seems worthless...

Hummm... Every time I boot XP Pro I get this message about CD burning software makes Windows unstable so Bill Gates is disabling my burner software. Worthless? Yes I would agree.
In case you are wondering it's XP Educational License for school work only because most Professors are too "stupid" to figure out how to install OO.
