Fonts for Gnome apps in std Slackware install ( X86_64 -current )
I'm interested in seeing what others are doing w.r.t. fonts in a standard Slack install. The 2 main apps I use are Firefox and Thunderbird and both look fairly poor out of the box. Previously I've used a combination of gtk-qt-engine and gnome-appearance-properties ( with a gsb install ) but this doesn't always do the 'right thing'. Ideas welcome ...

Have you seen Dugan's Guide

or this post

Yes I have but there's not much re. using Gnome apps in KDE. The only thing Dugan mentions is:

Remember, you can run xfsettingsd (Xfce 4.6), xfce-mcs-manager (Xfce 4.0–4.4), or gnome-settings-daemon to get Xfce or GNOME's appearance settings in another DE or WM.
I'm not sure if he means to use the daemon to set gnome font settings in kde or vice versa. Or am I missing the plot and will sorting out the /etc/fonts dir and recompiling the specified apps automatically sort Gnome apps out?
