Today's ChangeLog contains this snippet:

x/fontconfig-2.13.1-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded.
We had problem reports with fontconfig-2.13.0 which led to it being reverted
but we'll try it again. Please let me know if the issues (with Wine iirc)
Yes, the problem was with Wine, and no, the issue has not persisted. I am able to run my fave games with no difficulty. I do believe the problem has been fixed. Hooray!!

For me the small issues persist with wine (see the first post in this thread). However I am still running a relatively old version of wine:

andrew@illium~$ wine --version
wine-2.21 (Staging)
So I shall upgrade this and have another look...

Edit: Same issue seen after wine update:

andrew@illium~$ wine --version
The output is pretty long so I have paste-binned it here... Again, it is a minor inconvenience if not I slightly odd one...

My apologies for overlooking your quite correct answer! I am running a multi-lib setup with a mismatch between the the compat32 bit version and the 64 bit version, resolution of this situation (by compiling a compat32 bit version of the newer fontconfig package) completely resolved the issue for me. As it should be:

andrew@illium~$ qaac --check
qaac 2.67, CoreAudioToolbox
libsoxconvolver 0.1.0
libFLAC 1.3.1
wavpackdll 5.0.0
tak_deco_lib 2.3.0 compatible

I really should read a little more carefully!!!!

I'm getting these warnings on -current when trying to start Telegram 1.3.14.

I'm using

Telegram works, but throws these fontconfig warnings.

They have linked fontconfig statically in the Telegram binary. Not a good idea.

It seems there is the same problem with original Firefox (tested on v64) too.
