Font size problem after new kernel compile
I just recompiled the default slack 10.2 (2.4.31) to the latest kernel and when I rebooted to the new kernel it worked fine but the console font was REALLY huge.
I read http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=285572 which made it seems I would have to recompile the kernel to fix this which doesnt seem right (unless I really missed something here). When I edited lilo.conf originally after the boot all I did was add the new kernel and it came out really big font. Then I commented my usual line and uncommented vga=normal and still same results. I used make oldconfig and dont remember any options about font sizes or any vga things so I do not know where the issue came from. |
Try vga=733 in lilo.conf
That will get you 1024x768x256 And the penguin |
Thanks for the post after looking more after the post it seems I didnt compile the proper vga/vesa settings so I changed them and recompiled and its working fine.
