fyi, you can still install fluxbox from that link btw - it's only a 500Kb download, then su as root and install it - should run very nice on a default installation - than head over to www.fluxmod.dk and pick up some cool themes for it.
g'luck dude
Im having trouble with lilo now I reinstalled slack so that i could skip fluxbox and black box then install the lastest one's trouble free, but that isnt a problem the lilo is i only have kde and when i type lilo in run it comes up in the window and i go to expert and change the place to install lilo mbr to, then when i press ok it stalls everytime it the only thing that stall's and it the one thing i want to edit can i open it up in only a text file by going to /somewhere i dont know were it is lol.
My lilo.conf is all good i want to change the boot sector(what eva its called) from /dev/hdc7 to /dev/hdc1 so i did and now i type lilo in and it says writen it to here could be fatal{y/n}y then a error saying Fatal: Fatal the file system would have been distroed by lilo. But my windows partiton is fine and the mbr is in hdc1 inst it thats were i put it in last time it was installed.
make sure the kernel '/boot/vmlinuz' exists on your machine, then you linux entry should be like this:-
image = /boot/vmlinuz
root = /dev/hdc1
label = Linux
read-only
I'll need to see the lilo.conf if you want my help 'coz I'm at a window box and I don't keep most of this stuff in my head!
Are you editing the lilo.conf file manuallly and then running /sbin/lilo
or are you using the setup script through pkgtool?
Also, do you have a windows partition, and what's it's details?
Also, why are installing to the MBR, why not just install to your root and set the partition active?
Ok my partitions are as follows hd1windows hdc2windows hdc7root hdc6swap im editing the lilo.conf now with a editor, how do you active the partiton. I cant post the lilo.conf details because i cant get on net in linux so im trying to remember everything
