flashplayer no sound in slackware64-current (14.2 beta) on firefox
 

I installed flashplugin from the extra folder of slackdvd and now i am able to view videos but no sound

i have actually had to enable my audio using the doucment http://docs.slackware.com/howtos:har...s_on_slackware

and the audio is working fine for everything else but not on flash player .

I have exactly added the configuration mentioned in the document as my hardware was using 1,0

any idea about flashplayer?

Are you trying to use pulseaudio or not?

I'm using pulseaudio here and am able to listen to various youtube and other videos with sound. I'm also using the slackbuild for the latest flashplayer bundle from slackbuilds.org.

yes I am using pulseaudio and i am able to hear from youtube , as it uses html5 player

Just use youtube-dl and mpv to watch videos, its way better than watching them in a web browser.

Alsa default sample rate is 48000, change it to 441000. Some of this rate will cause period_time problem, you have test all possible combinations out.

@Number22 thank you will check that sample rate , but can you assist where should i set this?

Sinar.kk, You don't need to set the sample rate. Alsa can do that automatically. What you do need to do is provide your output of

aplay -l #lower case L
cat /proc/asound/cards

Post also any modifications/additions to /etc/asound.conf and $HOME/.asoundrc.

There are too many sound card hardware variations to "guess" at yours. Typically, if sound words everywhere but flash/firefox your default sound card is not "hw:0,0" This often happens if you have HDMI ports on the motherboard or your GPU - then hw:0,0 is your HDMI audio instead of analog PCM. Firefox is stupid this way. Other ALSA (or pulse) aware applications can usually figure it out.

I would advise first noticing that the Gentoo Linux Security Alerts (GLSA) has an entry for flash player about once a month...
