Adobe has released an update for Flash Player for Linux. 10 R12 is vulnerable, so get updated with 10 R15

Neither upgrading firefox to 3.0.5 nor flash to 10 R15 did fix it.
So far the only solution for me is to disable hardware acceleration.

yes the same here crashes unless i uncheck hardware acceleration...

Sorry guys, just realized what really fixed it.

I did a fresh install and hadn't installed the Nvidia driver yet (I was recompiling the kernel). The real reason it wasn't locking up was because I was using the vesa driver. I just installed the Nvidia driver and the problem came back
