using Slackware 13 64bit, 2.6.29.6-smp, KDE desktop.
i installed the flash-player-plugin using sbopkg.
when i try hulu.com, it says i'm missing the flash plugin.
i copied the .so file to
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins
and i still get the same result.
Firstly does flash work on other sites? I had a search on my Slack 13 64 bit system and found it in the same places as you did,I also found a links to it in /home/yourname/.mozilla/plugins.Maybe you need to link it there.
64-bit Flash on Hulu can be hit or miss (not sure why). There are lots of threads all over the net about it working for some people but others. I've had success using the 64-bit version of the huludesktop application. You can download a 64-bit RPM from the Hulu Labs site.
Once you've downloaded it, you can run rpm2tgz and create a Slackware package for it. When you first run huludesktop, it will create a configuration file in your home directory. At first, huludesktop will say it can't find flash, so edit the configuration file and point it to /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/<lib flash name>.so.
The SBo package should install libflashplayer.so to /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so. You might try uninstalling the SBo package and trying again. You could also download the plugin from the Adobe Labs site and manually install. Either way, make sure you get the 64-bit version, since you said you are using Slackware13-64.
Unless something has changed in the last 2 weeks, hulu will not work with 64 bit flash on linux. In my experience hulu.com will tell you that there are technical limitations to the 64 bit flash plugin for linux.
first i downloaded the rpm from the adobe site.
did rpm2tgz and installed it then i installed the flash-plugin
using sbopkg. and now it works. go figure.

My solution was to go multilib and run 32 bit browsers and plugins. In addition to hulu, I found that the performance of 32 bit flash is far superior to 64, probably because adobe is versions ahead with 32 vs 64. That's despite the fact that when I benchmark say 32 bit chrome vs 64 bit chrome I get about a 5% loss with 32 bit.
