First time user, network question

Hi all.

This is my first time to try Slackware.
I have been using Redhat for about 2 years as casual user,
usually setup everything from GUI.
So I'm a little bit lost on Slack console.
I need a guide

I'm using Slackware 9.0 on a Toshiba laptop.
The laptop was working fine with Redhat.
I boot and setup slack from CD-ROM.
I followed the setup instruction without any trouble,
but when it came to network configuration,
the setup can not find my PCMCIA Ethernet card.
My question are:

1. How can I enable the PCMCIA card as eth0.
I have no idea which configuration file(s) should I look for.

2. I'm more confortable with iproute2, but I couldn't find it in my installation. Does slack support iproute2 ?

Re: First time user, network question

you have to enable hotplug and pcmcia at boot time, (in /etc/rc.d/rc.M)...this should detect your card and help you solve the problem

slack r0xx
