Crux is working around this by building firefox with the -Os rather than -O2 optimization flag.

yep, thanks j_v, I tested just on slackware64-current but looks like the temporary workaround of substituting -O2 with -Os in the SlackBuild is useful for 43.0.X (it doesn't crash anymore).

Latest changelog + Firefox seems to have fixed for me:

Code:
xap/mozilla-firefox-43.0.2-x86_64-2.txz: Rebuilt.
Compile with -Os instread of -O2 to work around crash issues.
Recent betas are working fine with -O2, so we'll probably be
able to switch back to that again soon. Thanks to j_v.
Thanks again to PV and team

ruario, I did use your script with 43.0.1 and 43.0.2 with no luck solving the crashing issue. I tried Pat's new package this morning with no luck either. back to 42 once again.

I have been unable to reproduce any of these may have to look at what types of extensions it is built on and if it is a AMD pre FX cpu. I have not been able to reproduce this with the AMD phenom II or an AMD FX .
may look to see If they enabled sse3 or avx1. that would cause this issue. and yes a P4 would not run it.

Just tested 44.0 built with '-02' and it 'seems' fine. Opened Onet.pl and mega.nz (was crashing here) without problem.

Certain pages (like html5test, onet.pl or mega) cause segfaults with SeaMonkey 2.39 from -current too (both x86 and x86_64). As was the case with Firefox, it doesn't happen with Mozilla builds.

Did you know that seamonkey 2.39 is firefox 43 under the hood?
If you compile it with --enable-application=browser instead of --enable-application=suite the output is more or less firefox 43.
So I'm not all that surprised it suffers from the exact same bug.

Hi,

Quote:

Does it really work? I tried and got:
Code:
configure: error: --enable-application value not recognized (../browser/build.mk does not exist).
*** Fix above errors and then restart with\
               "make -f client.mk build"

Best regards,
