No, Firefox should create a hidden directory called .mozilla in your home directory. What is listed when you execute the following in your home directory?
Code:
ls -la
If there's nothing in there you have bigger problems than just Firefox plugins.

How did you looked for that subdirectory ? Just be aware it's a "hidden" as it starts with a dot and some file managers or cmdline tools does not display such by default. Howerver try the above suggestion before playing with profile files.

You can see the directory that you want to move in that listing -- it is called .mozilla so is hidden from normal listings. To move it simply execute something like the following from your home folder:
Code:
mv .mozilla old.mozilla
When you run Firefox again it will create a new directory.

Evidently something is seriously broken.

I just discovered that K3b doesn't recognize my CDROM drive so I can burn my Slackware 64.

I'm off to burn a fresh .iso of Slackware 14.1 for 64-bit on my Fedora machine.
Thank goodness I have that.

Thank You all for helping me.

The version of Slackware that is installed at the moment is Version 14.1 Slackware 32-bit.
Yesterday I ran:
Code:
slackpkg update
slackpkg install-new
slackpkg upgrade all
slackpkg clean-system
Firefox cam directly from the mirror that I have uncommented.
It's http://mirror.us.kernel.org/slackware/slackware-current
This doesn't match. If you uncomment a mirror for Slackware -current and run those upgrade commands you are effectively switching to the development branch of Slackware (I was confused why you have Firefox 29 when Slackware 14.1 uses 24ESR instead, at first). If you run that branch you are expected to be able to fix your system if something bad happens. Since k3b also doesn't work correctly it seems that you have broken your system.
I strongly recommend that you use the stable 14.1 branch instead (do uncomment such a mirror, not one for Slackware -current), unless you are willing to sometimes have a breakage (though they are pretty rare in Slackware development they sometimes happen). In any way, before switching to -current you should take your time to learn basics on the commandline and with Slackware maintenance/configuring.

I understand which mirror to uncomment now. I didn't realize I had the wrong one choosen.
Thank You TobiSGD-
This is the mirror that I uncommented in my /etc/slackpkg/mirrors file
http://mirrors.us.kernel.org/slackware/slackware64-14.1

I'll take my time and not rush learning with this distribution.

The fresh installation of Slackware 64 14.1 was a success.

Firefox 24 that came with this distro and it works well.
I'm now looking for Firefox 29 and how to properly install it on my fresh installation--

To get newer Firefox versions try ruario's script here, it will download the newest version and package it for you, so that you can use upgradepkg to install it: https://gist.github.com/ruario/9672798

Put it in a file, make that file executable (or use bash to run it). It will download Firefox and create a package in your /tmp directory, which can be used to upgrade Firefox.

Ok, I used Vi and put it in a file named "Firefox" and placed it in my Documents directory.
Now run this?
Code:
cd Documents
ls
bash Firefox
