Firefox 21 and Ruario's latest-firefox script
I always used Ruario's latest-firefox script to update Firefox to the latest version (I still use Slackware64 13.1), but the Firefox 21 changed the directories (folders) of the 21st version and the script no longer works as it is, although I've tried some changes altering the paths and did not work (the pluggins and extensions were missed, all of them). I'd appreciate if someone could post the changes for that script for the 21st Firefox version.

@neymac: Good glad it worked. Though this was just a quick fix when I saw this thread. I might rewrite the new parts and make them neater. By the way I just reread your first comment and you mention extensions. Do you need me to try and do something with that as well?
Edit: I just checked and extensions appear to work for me in Firefox 21.0.

@ruario: No, thank you, the extensions worked fine here as well in Firefox 21.0 after the new script.

Sorry about resurrecting a six month old thread.
I am curious if you have a 'Thunderbird' version of this script; latest-firefox?

No but I suspect it would be pretty straightforward to do one. Just a handful of tweaks. In the run up to Christmas I am crazy busy and will be abroad for some of the time but I can do it on my return in the New Year (after the 6th). Otherwise if someone else wants to give it a go they should go right ahead!

Hi,
I did look at the script and it does look like it would be easy to change for 'Thunderbird'. Just asking in case you had done a 'Thunderbird' version.
Thanks!

kudus for a neat script!
Just one thing - what the heck is 'command'? (like in: if command -v update-desktop-database >/dev/null 2>&1; then) - it's not on _my_ rig ... and I don't see it as a function anywhere in the script.
There is also a typo ($VERISON vs $VERSION) but it's in a comment, so no biggie.

It is a builtin for bourne shells. "command -v" does almost the same as "which", e.g.
Code:
$ command -v vi
/usr/bin/vi
