I bought this wireless adapter two weeks ago, but I realized that is poorly supported on Linux. Its quite cheap, in Italy shops costs just over 20 euro, but even less on Amazon

Connected to the USB port of my notebook with slackware 64 nothing happens.
Typing in a shell
lsusb output shows:
Code:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 148f:761a Ralink Technology, Corp.
In the box there is a CDROM containing Windows drivers and in Linux folder there is a document that refers to a source on GitHub which should be compiled and installed, but it is dated and is only compiles for
2.x and 3.x kernels.
I tried a version that could be compiled on slackware current and I found an article written in German on
https://www.myria.de/computer/1308-t...r-linux-nutzen where they talk about a patch which allows compiling the kernels 4.x. This version was compiled successfully, but the installation does not support the DESTDIR method making the package creation difficult.
By using slacktrack utility I found out what files are installed, so I wrote a SlackBuild that after compiling move generated files in a temporary folder to build the package and restoring previous system
state.
This is a temporary solution because this driver should be part of the kernel, but for new devices like this probably should spend some time yet.
The package once installed runs well the WiFi adapter, especially if you turn Networkmanager instead of Wicd you can see a double list of WiFi sources and should work both at 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.
I enclose in this post the SlackBuild files in case they need someone.
Suggestions and comments are welcome.
