File size limit exceeded when files over 200mb approx.

For some reason I canīt copy any files over about 200mb. I am using reiserfs and have plenty of space on the disks I am trying to copy files on. I have also tried this as root but it doesnīt make any difference.

Also I am using the latest kernel 2.6.11

This is really frustrating :(

What error message do you get?
What is the output of "df -h"?

Might want to look at your ulimit settings too.
Came across a problem like that in another thread somewhere. Seems ulimit was limiting file sizes.

I believe this is the thread:

Sorry if I am missinformed, but isn't reiserfs meant to work best with smaller files?

buaku 05-06-2005 06:12 PM

Cool deal! Glad that thread came in handy.

Reiserfs works fine with big files, just not as quite as fast as other systems like JFS can be.
