fglrx fails to compile? custom 2.6.20

Hi there. I just got back into Linux (last time I used Slackware was version 7.0) and have been able to get my PC running perfectly and my laptop (IBM T43) is almost there. I have a full install of Slack 11 and the problem I am facing right now is getting my ATI x300 working. I have a custom 2.6.20 kernel and downloaded and tried to install ATI's latest (8.34.8) from the site. I have tried using the installer as well as the rpm (rpm2tgz ...) but neither works. Please help me figure out why I cant compile.

My relevant kernel options:
Code:
CONFIG_AGP=m
# CONFIG_AGP_ALI is not set
CONFIG_AGP_ATI=m
# CONFIG_AGP_AMD is not set
# CONFIG_AGP_AMD64 is not set
# CONFIG_AGP_INTEL is not set
# CONFIG_AGP_NVIDIA is not set
# CONFIG_AGP_SIS is not set
# CONFIG_AGP_SWORKS is not set
# CONFIG_AGP_VIA is not set
# CONFIG_AGP_EFFICEON is not set
# CONFIG_DRM is not set

My error message:
Code:
root@quasimodo:/lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x# make

Please, any assistance would be appreciated. I tried reading the sticky threads and searched the forums but have not been able to get this working. Thanks in advance.

What a joke, ATI. As much as I would like to support a Canadian tech company they sure are getting slapped around by Nvidia regarding Linux support.

To anyone having the same problem, great thread on Ubuntu forums also:

Thanks for the help guys, I got it working. A whooping 300 fps from glxgears. Go ATI mobility !
