Not much help, I know. (but there is an LDAP howto doc on my Slackware 12.0 -- how I found it, I shared above, copied from konsole)

A search there for "ldap slackware" turned up some on how on Slackware 11.0
It definetly should be possible. I'm unaware if package(s) available or whether you'd need to make your own package and/or (as a last resort, only -> manually (make install etc.)
