Compiling a kernel isn't hard though. It was daunting for me to start with, but correcting HIMEM support is simple as saying Y. Though Shilo's idea might work, but my kernel is already recompiled.

Maybe there could be a kernel with himem support included on the Slackware cd? With all the other ones. That might keep people happy
