Failure building multiple apps due to missing library jscore

Hi all-

I'm having a problem building some applications (e.g. Qsynth and FreeCAD) with sbopkg relating to an unfound library named "jscore". I've been keeping my system up to date with slackware64-current.

Google searches have turned up very little about this library. There is a sourceforge page that has no files and seems to be related to a google hosted script jsCore.js... but I don't think that's what's missing here.

I've come across some vague references to this jscore library being part of webkit. Can anyone verify this? I updated my webkit library itself and found no apparent results. Perhaps jscore was removed in an update to Qt (both of the example applications mentioned above link to Qt) as it seems to have it's own webkit library, libQtWebKit.

Is anyone familiar with this library, jscore?

Thanks,
--Chad

'libjscore.so' ?

I don't see the qsynth.SlackBuild asking for it.

The source code is here ( osb-jscore_0.5.0.orig.tar.gz )
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/poo....0.orig.tar.gz
Will create :
libjscore.a libjscore.la libjscore.so@ libjscore.so.0@ libjscore.so.0.0.0*

Ubuntu only ? It is / was available in Dapper :
http://packages.ubuntu.com/dapper/libjscore0

P.S. : A jscore.jar seems to exist too :
http://www.algomusic.com/jmsl/README_FIRST.html

EDIT : Osb-jscore : Part of (an old) Gtk+ WebCore
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gtk-webcore/
> > http://sourceforge.net/projects/gtk-...ar.gz/download (osb-jscore 0.5.2)
..

@knudfl well, I thought it was QSynth... perhaps I'm remembering incorrectly. Anyhow, thanks for the links. It looks like ponce has the answer though!

@ponce That's exactly my problem. Thanks! Now, why didn't that post come up when I searched LQ? Anyway, thanks

Ref. post # 3.

I made a compile test on qt-4.7.0_7abde40 : # sh qt.Slackbuild.

libjscore.a was created. Not libjscore.la.

Post #4 : LQ Search : the keyword 'libjscore' will show the "December thread".
( Keyword = jscore : No.)

yes, you're right, knudfl, thanks for correcting: the generated static is libjscore.a (fixed it also in the linked topic).
