Failed to exec /sbin/modprobe
I'm trying to load Slackware 10 on a laptop and after loading the boot disc I am unable to load root disc 1 due to the following message
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k block-major-2, error = 2 anyone have any ideads around this problem?. |
Try making new disks, maybe it's corrupted. By the way, if you have a cdrom device you could use the slackware cds instead of floppies.

Have tried various floppy discs with the same root file on to no avail.
Regard the cd version I've tried an iso version but keep getting "no operating system" prompt on screen when loading those! |
Are you sure you set your BIOS to load from CD?
Btw, try downloading again the floppy images, maybe some got a corrupted download. |
