ext3 compiled in? (As opposed to a module)

I HATE the ramdisk! Is anyone with me on this? Anyways, I am wondering is it possible to compile my filesystem driver (ext3, in my case) directly into my kernel, and ditch this ramdisk b/s?

I don't think this should be an issue, but I'm not sure if I'm overlooking a critical detail. Thanks!

Absolutely, I do it with all of my kernels. Just make sure
that you have a "*", and not "M" next to your driver
