/etc/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules and /etc/udev/rules.d/S99-2000S1.rules missing LABEL=libsane_rules_end

Greetings all, I'm using a fully upgraded slackware-current.

I saw some udevd warnings at early boot:
Code:

[    5.215581] udevd[775]: GOTO 'libsane_rules_end' has no matching label in: '/etc/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules'
[    5.255326] udevd[775]: GOTO 'libsane_rules_end' has no matching label in: '/etc/udev/rules.d/S99-2000S1.rules'

Indeed the LABEL=libsane_rules_end is missing at the end of those files.

I'm just curious if this problem only happened to my system.

Slackware64-current, up to date as of Fri Mar 6 22:10:25 UTC 2020 ChangeLog.txt

I don't see this in my logs. I also do not have those files in /etc/udev/rules.d/

I do have a lib/udev/rules.d/80-libsane.rules put in place by the package sane-1.0.29-x86_64-1

I don't see this during the boot process either.

Yes you're right, no packages own those files in my system either. I don't remember adding those files in /etc/udev/rules.d, so perhaps something in my system did it.

Well, I guess it's probably specific to my system then. Marking this thread as solved.

Sorry for the noise.

Noise is good!

I did some more research, it appears these file are generated by hplip for some HP printers.

Had a look on my system and I too have that directory in /etc. It has a file for my Brother printer.

I was also suspecting that hplip was the one that did it but I got too lazy to confirm it :D.

Many thanks for the info (and your time).
