Angry ETA on official Gnome 2.6 packages?

I've tried to build Gnome 2.6 from source. which went well until the last few packages, and I tried the tchelinux slackware packages, and have gnome working to an extent. But I really want to know, can we expect offical gnome packages anytime soon? I've been patiently waiting.

My gnome doesn't really work quite right as it is. Rhythmbox is funky, and gdesklets don't behave right no matter what. I guess thats what I get for not waiting. But if the official packages come out anytime soon, I plan on wiping my slack install and then reupdating.

I guess, does anyone have any information that I don't? I had the kde 3.2 packages almost right Patrick just taking his time?

The official ETA would only be know by Mr. Volkerding. He adds packages when he thinks they are stable enough to be added. Either he is busy with other things or he might not like something in 2.6.0 and is waiting on the next release.

Heh, I pretty much expected that as an answer. I really shouldn't have posted this at all...its just that I'm frustrated.

I love slackware to death, I just wish I could get gnome 2.6 to work properly. Maybe Patrick is having the same troubles...hehe

Thanks anyways,
