error with tuxcards

i just installed tuxcards.. well actually i did: tar xvzf tuxcards-x-x.tgz in the root directory.. it unzipped INSTALL in that directory then unzipped several other files into /usr/docs and /usr/local/bin. i got lost and did whereis on tuxcards and found it in /usr/local/bin.. i thought it was a directory but it wasnt so i typed tuxcards and it started the program.. (i didnt have to do make, make instlal, make clean etc etc which i thought was weird, but the program works) anyways, i did all this as root.. now if i type tuxcards as a user i get this:

bash-3.00$ tuxcards
QSettings: error creating /home/dachy/.qt
TuxCards - cannot write to /home/dachy/.tuxcards
Segmentation fault

what's the problem here? and can anyone explain how my installation got messy?
i downloaded the file to /home/dachy, then i did the whole tar xvzf thing but it created the folder /home/usr/dachy which i wasnt sure was right so i deleted it and went to the " / " folder and did it so it would unzip everything into the pre-existing /usr directory. the problems with that was that it created /INSTALL/. is there supposed to be a /usr directory under /home/dachy? and is that why the program isn't working for dachy? i wanted to be able to install the software so ANY user could use it. thanks for the help!

Did you download the slackware package from tuxcards.de? If so, you should have used (as root) installpkg /path/to/tuxcards-x-x-x.tgz.

You could attempt some cleanup by looking at the ccontents of the tgz and looking for them on your system, good luck.
