Epson 3170 Photo scanner 64 bit

Run 2 installs of Slack-13.1 : 32 and 64 bit.
Above scanner runs fine on 32 bit with:
iscan-2.10.0-1.c2.i386.tgz and iscan-plugin-gt-9400-1.0.0-1.c2.i386.tgz (converted rpm's)

Use these files already several years.
Could not find the 64 bit version on Avasys.
Their general (very old)iscan sourcefile does not compile.

Compiled the iscan-proprietary-driver with SlackBuild.
This gives me the required 64 bit ibesint32.so.2.0.0, but misses
the firmware binary.
Googled half a day but could not find the required fimware and
iscan-executable.

Any help will be much appreciated

I don't know the answer, but since you've gotten no replies let me at least throw out a couple of ideas.

I use a Perfection 610, and the iscan version is up to 2.25 for my scanner. Isn't version 2.10 for 32-bit only? Have you considered trying the Slackware 32-bit compatibility libraries?

I've also heard that you can extract the firmware and then run the iscan driver under xsane or scanimage. That should work on a pure 64-bit system. The Gentoo Wiki has a page that might help if you want to try that.

For the 3170 version 2.10 is the latest. Used this for years.
Anyhow, you gave me some ideas, certainly worth following up.

Curious about extracting the firmware: that must be 64 bit

Unfortunatly, they are no longer supporting that model.
Which means no 64bit support.

Well, enabling 32 bit on the 64 bit version as per compatibility libraries is the only thing left.
