My present laptop,Dell Inspiron 1440 is running slackware 13.0.The following is my laptop's specifications;

Intel C2D T6500
3GB DDR2 RAM
Intel X4500XHD
Alps Touchpad

I want to get more out of my laptop in linux;I want to :

1.Play full HD mkv files with gpu acceleration
2.Disable my touchpad when my USB mouse is plugged in
3.Enable my bluetooth(Dell Wireless 365)

Is that possible?Thank you and excuse me for my English.Feel free to ask more information about my laptop in case you find the information provided above is not adequate.

It may be possible.

Try yourself, and let us know where you get stuck.

1.I have no idea to enable gpu acceleration as intel does not have a config menu but only a driver
2.I will try them later.I will tell you all if I get stuck
3.I don't know where to find my bluetooth driver and which bluetooth software I should use.I'm now running KDE 4.3.1

With respect, it's a bit like saying 'I want to swim, but I don't want to get my feet wet.'

You need your bluetooth driver and bluezd correctly configured. You haven't told us your wifi/bluetooth card
Graphics involves getting the most out of your driver, and X. All of us would like that, but not all of us want to spend half our life farting about to achieve it. It's driver specific, and we don't know your video card. There are u7sually a choice of drivers, and poorly known options. Specialist graphics forums are best for that (e.g. on nvidia, ati, or your distro's site)

See how far you can go with what kde offers as setup tools.
