I've upgraded to Slack 13.0 but can't boot it due to this error message "Probing EDD". When this happens it stops and immediately reboots, and keeps repeating and repeating etc. Sort of like a dog chasing it's tail. I had the same problem with 12.2, so I had to use 12.1 instead. I was hoping that Volkerding, et al, would have caught this problem and fixed it. Wrong. Does anyone have a clue as to why this happens and what can be done about it? Volkerding, perhaps?

I really don't think you can blame 'PV' for not foretelling your hardware configuration. :)

What other errors do you see? Try passing 'noapic' and 'noapci' to the kernel to see what happens. You did a 'upgrade' from 12.1 to 13.0? What about reading the 'txt' files on the cd/dvd?
