Enabling a Wireless network Manually

I just installed the 2.6.19 Kernel successfully and want to hook up to our wireless network using my integrated Broadcom 4306 Wifi card. unfortunately whenever i try to enable it says that i would have to do it manually and i was wondering how you did that.
also i ran a dmesg and it gave an error message:
Code:
bcm43xx: Error Micronode "bcm43xx_micronode5.fw" not available or load failed
i wonder if this has to do anything with the problem.
any help is greatly appreciated

The Linux driver needs a firmware file which you have to extract from the Windows driver package as far as I know. Search the Slackware forum for "fwcutter" and you'll probably fond enough info on how to extract the firmware. The information could also be in the documentation that comes with your driver, I can't tell since I don't have a card like that.

Check out my help site (the link is in my sig). I've got a section on using fwcutter to create and install firmware files for the bmc43xx driver.
