Emacs 22.1 slack build script available?

Hi all,

Emacs 22.1 was just released this week. Slackware 11 comes with a very nicely compiled Emacs version 21.4.

Does anyone have or know of a good slack build script for making an Emacs 22.1 package?

I'm thinking of looking at the build script for 21.4 and modifying it, but I'm still rather new to Slackbuilds, so I'm not sure how to proceed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

-Drew

I'm thinking that one might appear under the -current tree soon, since Emacs 22.1 was only just released.

You can find build scripts for any package included in Slackware in any mirror or if you've Slackware's DVD (or all CDs) inside source/ directory.
Example: http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/s...rent/source/e/

I hope it also shows up in the -stable branch like has happened with Firefox 2. I'm not sure that something compiled against the -current tool chain will run on my default Slackware 11 installation (although I've applied all the updates in -stable).

Thanks! I realize the build script for Emacs 21.4 is available. I may be able to modify it for the newly released Emacs 22.1. There are some differences from what I can tell. Some external packages that are currently compiled separately are integrated for the new release.

There's also the suggestion to "make bootstrap" first, and then run make. I'll need to check the script to see if that's in there.

And, frankly, I'll need to actually learn how to edit a Slackbuild script.

Regards,

-Drew
