Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Hello
Encounter a strange problem:
hardware is asus eeepc 900 netbook ( celeron 900 mhz, 1 Gb RAM, 16 Gb ssd on ide (internal).
have installed slackware 13.1 on second partition of ssd, and when i close lid, it go to suspend to ram, when i open lid and touch a Fn or F1 key, it wakes up. it all work very good without any problems.
some time ago i purchase 2GB RAM module, and swap (that machine supports max 2 gb, and have only one memory slot). all works without any problems ( until yesterday i do not put netbook to sleep ), but yesterday i close lid -and netbook going to sleep, as always.
but when i open lid and touch a key, "on" and blue "wifi" led switch on, but nothing another changes - screen is absolute black, any indicators not activity, short press on "on / off" switch do nothing. also touching any keys do nothing. i try it many times - always get the same. after that i turn it off only if long press off button - then netbook switched off.
