aria2 for the command line or the Opera browser has a built in bittorrent client

I always use qbittorrent, no other GUI based client can beat it.

Package at http://slackware.com/~alien/slackbuilds/qbittorrent/ and you need to install this bittorrent library too: http://slackware.com/~alien/slackbui...ent-rasterbar/

Thanks for the links, Eric. I really like the look of qbittorrent.

+1 for Transmission. I find it much simpler than uTorrent (and probably qbittorrent).

btpd which is available in SBo is really good and simple

I have tried to install qtorrent, but it only shows a splash screen and then crashes. If i try to run it from terminal, i get:

$ qbittorrent
Peer ID: -qB2690-
HTTP user agent is qBittorrent v2.6.9
qbittorrent: symbol lookup error: qbittorrent: undefined symbol: _ZN10libtorrent7session9set_proxyERKNS_14proxy_settingsE

Iv'e got libtorrent-rasterbar, zziplib and GeoIP installed from slackbuilds.

If you use KDE, give ktorrent a try. That's why I use, anyway.

I use vuze/azureus. Yeah, it's java, but there's no deps and it works fine, one of the few good java programs.

sticked to rtorrent for a long time

alekow 04-03-2011 12:03 PM

Azureus is great, but only with classic interface. Ktorrent is not bad.

This is almost a poll, so here's my personal opinion: :)

- transmission for GUI (will build GTK and Qt interface) (*)
- rtorrent for the command line

An updated script for the newer version will be available for Slackware 13.37 soon.

Looks like a version mismatch between qbittorrent and libtorrent-rasterbar. Which version rasterbar are you using?
