Yes....what version of xine are you using and did you pass the --enable-dxr3 option to ./configure?
Also do you have any trouble uploading the microcode?

The microcode is essential, nothing will work if that dosn't upload correctly. I'm using dxr3-0.12.0 and xine-0.9.13

I seem to remember when trying to set up the microcode that i had two different documents explaining how to do it.. each contradicting the other slightly...
Did you follow any particular documents in order to get it working..
I've gotta reinstall slackware 8.1 from a pukka Cd tonight (after discovering my previous CD had a bad checksum) If I get round to setting up the hw+ i'll post some more details about where i got stuck...
cheers

First I did ./configure && make && make install in the main dxr3 directory to get the tools installed, then I installed the modules and made the device entries. Last of all I tested the module options untill I got the tv out working.

I've been following the Dxr3 & hw+ howto...
ran make && make install
make devices (in /modules)
the howto clamed that with v0.12.0 i don't need to mess around with micro code...just need to run em8300init, however I don't seem to have the program...

If you do ./configure && make && make install in /em8300-0.12.0 it will install em8300init, which is really microcode_upload.pl renamed and installed into /usr/bin along with the microcode and some other tools.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...
I've ran ./configure && make && make install (in the modules directory)
I then seemed to have em8300init
did modprobe em8300
and then em8300init
It paused a while and then timed out...
Is there anyway I un-make what I've made and start from scratch??

Microcode upload to /dev/em8300-0 failed: Timer expired
recieved after modprobing em8300
then em8300init

Thats usually caused by an IRQ conflict, I got a lot of those and had to do the pci slot shuffle before I got it working.

Thats about what I said
Mine is happily sharing an IRQ with my usb controllers ATM, I had time outs when it was sharing with my NIC and sound card. Don't try it with your video card though. You might need to have a play around in the bios as well untill you find the magic setup.
