DVD Playback Problems

Hi,

I've got problems playing some DVDs with mplayer (libdvdcss and libdvdread are installed). Some DVDs seem to totally screw up mplayer, "Sleepy Hollow" for example: I can play some of the tracks on the DVD, but mplayer can't play them "as a whole", so that I can watch the whole movie without selecting the tracks manually. "Pirates of the Carribean" however plays fine, playing all tracks automatically in the right order. Is this behaviour normal with certain DVDs?
Is there anything that can be done to play them properly? Or does Xine play DVDs better than mplayer? (I know that xine is better for menus, but that doesn't matter to me).

Thanks. I didn't try xine cause I don't want to install it. I prefer mplayer. But if there's no other possibility, I guess I'll have to install xine.

Yes, installed that too. I now tried ~10 DVDs and all play without problems except "Sleepy Hollow". So it seems there's just something wrong with the DVD (it plays well on the standalone player though). Thank you all for you help.

if you actually provide some REAL error messages, we might have a better chance of helping.
