looks like driver is in stock kernel, see the card, but not creating /dev/dvb devices?

try to make new udev rule in /etc/udev/udev.d/10-local.rules with
Code:

#create correct dvb devices
KERNEL=="dvb0.dvr*",        NAME="dvb/adapter0/dvr%n"
KERNEL=="dvb0.demux*",      NAME="dvb/adapter0/demux%n"
KERNEL=="dvb0.frontend*",  NAME="dvb/adapter0/frontend%n"
KERNEL=="dvb0.audio*",      NAME="dvb/adapter0/audio%n"
KERNEL=="dvb0.ca*",        NAME="dvb/adapter0/ca%n"
KERNEL=="dvb0.osd*",        NAME="dvb/adapter0/osd%n"
KERNEL=="dvb0.net*",        NAME="dvb/adapter0/net%n"
KERNEL=="dvb0.video*",      NAME="dvb/adapter0/video%n"

but after restart not see any changes in /dev/
:(

Have a look also at /var/log/messages

Sometimes other device names are used. The most comfortable way to get things going is with Kaffeine (probably the best program for watching and recording DVB for Linux). It scans for devices and channels much faster than all the command line programs I tried, and once it finds your device, you know the name of it. From that point on it should be much easier to get your device working with other programs, you might prefer, too.

Good luck!

what "other names"? :-O
that station is setting up for receive satellite data via eumetsat, for forecasting, and receiving will do via Tellicast programm. in any way, looks like there no /dev/dvb devices, as they must be, driver is loaded, but devices not created.
maybe also anyone has experience with another dvb cards on slack 14?
we can find to purchase another dvb card who was fully supported by 3.2 kernel out of the box - that, maybe, is better way, than struggling with skystar s2....

Both Hauppauge HVR 1600 and 1800 have great Linux support out of the box. I use both of them with an over the air antenna and have had great results!

Thanks for info, it be support Data ?
forget say about that, but in short info, i can find, it says:
*************************
TechniSat™ SkyStar2 (note NOT the SkyStar 2 HD card as this does not support Data)
BroadLogic™ V@box 2030
Hauppage WINTV (only older Technotrend based cards, new HR cards are still lacking data support)
***************************

as so that DVB card must be support mystic (for me) "data" for can be receiving datafiles from satellite.

Ah, gotcha. That may be a deal breaker for you then.

A new input - looking for DVB-S2 card with data and VCM mode, working out of the box for kernels 3.2.x and up.
thanks for any info.
for skystar s2 - try to compile new kernels - 3.10.1 and 3.8, to see what happens. maybe in that kernels it be work? :)
