Does anybody else not like the default behavior of emacs 22.2.1?

I haven't used it much, couldn't stand it. My main bitch is the loss of the left-click "this line to top of page" and right-click "top of page to here".

Instead, a left-click above or below the thumb / slider results in a full page up or down in the file. A right-click above or below the thumb / slider does nothing, but the slider will now scroll the window with either a left or right mouse drag of the slider.

I don't have time to study and fix it, I need to use it, so I went back to Slackware 12.0. For a system that I need a newer kernel, I install a newer kernel in 12.0. Easier to do that (for me) than take a course in emacs customization.

If anyone here has an in at Slackware, maybe someone will suggest that they not Windowize and bugger up what works wonderfully.

You could have just used upgradepkg to switch Slackware 12.1's Emac's package to 12.0's.

And I doubt the change in behavior you noticed was Slackware-specific.

I don't like emacs fullstop. I've never forgiven them for redefining the meaning of ctrl-h and making everyone's life complicated.

Pat can remove the entire 'e' set as far as I'm concerned.
