dumb xchat question

In Xchat, now the /msg comes in the same window just in a different color, I have no idea what I did to make it like that? How can I set it back to open in a new tab.

xchat 2.4.0

Hi, first time post here

I don't quite understand what your saying... do all /msg text come up in the same window? or just when you type /msg text?

xchat will put any /msg [text] you type in the current tab. if you want a new tab to msg someone, right click their name and click "open query window"

/msg simply send an instant message that comes up in the active tab/window
use /query to open a different window

yeah I know but before I messed with some xchat settings queries would always come in a different window, if I do /query <name> then it does, but before it would automatically do it.

But I mean when I get /msg'd to, it would open a query window?

Click on "IRC" then "Auto Open Dialog Windows".
