I recently installed a third hard drive in my WinXP box with the intent to install Slack 9 on it. The install went fine, no problems. I install lilo on the MBR and create an entry for XP. When I restart, it doesn't boot. All I get is a series of "L"s then nothing. I restored the MBR to the windows default with the XP cd, luckily I didn't have a problem with that. I tried installing Lilo on a floppy and the same problem occured. What could be causing this? Might it be my BIOS? I have a Dell Optiplex GX260, P4 2.4GHz, 256MB RAM, I have Slack installed on the secondary slave. Sorry this is such a long post and thanks for any info or help.
I don't think that's the problem. Lilo won't even start on boot. All I get is the block of L's then my computer restarts. I've done everything the links you gave say to do.
