Dropline Gnome Question: Power Save Issue

Perhaps some DLG users can help me.
When I set my monitor to go into power saving mode using KDE I add Option "dpms" to the monitor section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf and the monitor goes into power saving mode just fine. I'm currently running KDE on all of my Slackware boxes.
However, when I used DLG this didn't work for me. Am I editing the wrong file or missing some setting in Gnome itself?
I was running DLG before, but, this issue irked me a bit. I'd like to try DLG again if I can sort this out.
Thank you for any and all replies:-)

I had to switch over to Gnome to check this. Your menu at the top, System > Preferences > Power Management

Yes. Thank you. I did do that when I was running Gnome and it didn't work for me at the time. That's why I was wondering if there's some other file besides xorg.conf that needs to be edited.
Perhaps Gnome needs to be my default desktop for the xorg.conf settings to work in Gnome?
